Il Muretto

Il murretto is the famous wall in Alassio. You see a lot of ceramic flagstones with texts of famous and lesser-known Italian writers, painters, football stars, artists, Italian soccerteam. The inventor of this wall is Mario Berrino. (The famous painter from Alassio) The Muretto is situated on the corner of Corso Dante and Via Cavour

On this wall you will find bronze sculpture of couple in love. When you rub the foot of the girl you can make a wish!

A number of celebrities in the (recent) past have left their signatures: Ernest Hemingway, Max Biaggi, Claudio Chiapucci, Carlo Levi, Mario Cipolini, Louis Armstrong, Fausto Coppi.

Family Walk (3 km)
From Alassio you can walk to the lively little fishing village Laigueglia. They have a small cosy shopping street with various shops. Enjoy a cold prosecco on a nice terrace with a beautiful ocean view.

Ventimiglia

Ventimiglia is an interesting, lively old town on the coast on the border of France and Italy and is located at the mouth of the river Roya. Originated in Roman times. Here you see, hear and taste a mix of French and Italian influences. The beauty of the flowers and the Cote d'Azur Riviera come together. (A great time to visit out of season Ventimiglia is April through June and September through late October.)
